Sensitivity

The world population as of July 2007 was estimated to be over 6.6 billion people. Take a second to try and put that in perspective. 6.6 billion! That's a little more than what's in my bank account (in Zimbabwean dollars). Now we all know that variety is the spice of life, and in this world there's lots of different people. Black, White, Chinese, Indian, Christian, Muslim, Hindus, Atheists, Feminists, Sociolists, Facists, Rich, Poor, etc. Now at some time or the other, some group is bound to say something which another group might take offense to. That's the beauty/curse of freedom speech. So that leaves us with 3 options. Do we:

A) Put an end to freedom of speech.
B) Dedicate our time to censor any publically viewable material which is politically incorrect.
C) Stop being such overly sensitive cry babies.

If you think option A's the way to go, do yourself a favour and book a plane ticket to Afghanistan. If you chose B, you're probably one of those run-to-admin-like-a-little-schoolgirl types. THE CORRECT OPTION IS 'C'.

Now the reason I'm writing about this is because of the strange nature of the Religion&Beliefs forum. It's a phenomenon that I'll try to explain here. Here's the scenario which happened today:

Muslims:"Paul is a fake! The Bible is corrupt! The Bible is full of porn! Christians worship 3 Gods! Blah blah blah..."

And here's the typical reaction by Christians after reading these messages:

*Snore*

Infidel:"I have pet pigs, one of which I've decided to name Mohammed"

And here's the resulting reaction:

"You're a pathetic excuse for a human being! Your mother had sex with a pig!! Get a life you pathetic attention seeking pagan!"

The topic about the pigs was soon deleted. Is that a double stantdard? What is the reason for this anomaly? I guess I'll never figure it out. Drop me a message if you do.

To protect the identity of the muslim guy mentioned in this article, I will not reveal his username. Let's just call him... oh, i dunno... true786. anyways, true786 has just announced that he is leaving Prodigits. He deleted everyone from his budlist and is gone for good.
